Ashton Community Trust

I am responsible for community Inclusion Programs in the Ashton Centre. Part of this remit is to address community need. In doing so we have a number of initiatives running at the moment, these are ever changing according to community need.

Women’s groups:
Tuesday mornings Ukulele Classes
Wednesday mornings Sewing classes
Wednesday afternoons Yarn bombing prep, which is knitting and crocheting in preparation for yarnbombing the area for good relations week
Thursday morning 2 women’s health and well being classes
Friday mornings ESOL classes.

Conway Education Centre

Conway is a community-based charity delivering adult education, ESOL integration programmes, a refugee Homework Club, and the international music group Tunes Translated. Accredited courses include GCSE English and Maths, Essential Skills, and OCN ICT. Other courses include arts, crafts, aromatherapy, Tai Chi, cooking, Spanish, and photography. Free services include IOM & Belfast Health Trust outreach clinics, and supporting refugee families through ESOL, educational support for young people aged 9–17, and opportunities for cultural integration through music and community learning.

Law Centre NI

We offer free, independent and specialist legal advice, casework and representation in the areas of social security, employment and immigration.

Migration Justice is a project of Law Centre NI. Our resources and legal briefings are aimed at people seeking sanctuary, and those supporting them from the community and voluntary sector.
